Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Sepehri

Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Sepehri Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Sepehri is an associate professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Tarbiat Modares University (TMU), Tehran, Iran.

Dr. Sepehri obtained his PhD in Management Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in August 1991. He teaches MS and PhD level courses at TMU, where his teaching interests include network flows, data mining and knowledge discovery, mathematical programming, and business models.

His current research focuses on:

Operations Research in Medicine and Health Care;
Network Flows & Routing;
Social Networks, and Data/Text Mining;
Business Models and Loyalty Building Applications;
and Information Technology.

Dr. Sepehri has published research articles in numerous journals, including International Journal of Production Research, Sensor Letters, Journal of Transportation Research, International Journal of Industrial Engineering-Theory Applications and Practice, and Computers & Operations Research. He has co-authored the book, Ant Colony Optimization and its Applications (in Persian) - 2008, and co-translated the book “Business Models - Allan Afuah” to Persian - 2009.

Dr. Sepehri has served as Chairman of Department of Industrial Engineering, director of Office of International Relations Affairs and director of the Research Institute of Information Technology (TRIIT) at TMU. He also has served as a consultant to several prominent firms in Iran, including Hamadan Glass Co., Oil Industry Investment Company, and Iran Khodro Diesel Co.

He is a member of the following professional organizations: Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) and the Health Applications Section of INFORMS (HAS), Society for Health Systems (SHS), The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), The Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), International Society of Iranians in IE - OR (ISI - IEOR), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
